Consilient’s FoIP includes real-time fax relaying as well as store-and-forward approaches to transporting fax over internet. Real-time relay makes use of ITU-T T.38 protocol and fax data pump (ITU-T V.17/V.29/V.27ter) and T.30 protocol.

A variation of the T38 relay using T38 and T30 protocols, known as “T.38 End-point” is also supported on PC-based platforms. This solution is aimed at situations where internet-based fax servers need to send and receive faxes from remote fax machines connected via T38-enabled VoIP gateways.
